Reblogging because I need people to know that Damien Bloodmarch is so important to me and will forever be my guy (and Hugo, but this isn't about him). I was 11 and only got the game to date him. I had a lot of internalized transphobia, unfortunately. So when cool hot goth daddy Damien was revealed to be trans too I was like "you're telling me this character, who I assume is one of the fan favorites, is trans? And he's still the coolest man to ever man?"

What I mean is that at that time Damien meant a lot to me, and still does. It may seem dumb but I hated myself a lot less after that.

Not to drag up old shit, but I'm never going to stop pointing to Dream Daddy as a perfect example of queer media getting held to ridiculously high standards that straight media never is.

Dream Daddy is a good game with awesome characters and I'm never going to forgive the Internet for how many queer men it shamed out of enjoying it, or how many people pulled some, "ugh, men are gross, make it about lesbians instead" horseshit.
